Health Protection Agency (HPA) on Friday announced the 91st COVID-19 related death in Maldives.
As per the agency, the victim was a 78-year-old Maldivian male. He was brought to IGMH ER and was declared dead at 1248hrs.
So far, this was the fourth death reported since early morning today.
Earlier in the day, HPA reported the death of two males and one female, all locals.
Currently, the nation is experiencing its worst waves of COVID. HPA has strengthened the restrictive measures. This includes increasing curfew hours and extending the curfew duration as well.
With the increase in COVID positives in Maldives, the death toll has also increased. So far in May, 19 fatalities were recorded in relation to COVID..
