BML introduces new Digital Wallet

Bank of Maldives (BML) on Monday, announced the introduction of the new Digital Pay Wallet on its Mobile Banking application.

With the upgrade, contactless payment services and wallet-to-wallet transfer services are now available from the mobile banking app.

Furthermore, "customers can facilitate payments through the BML Mobile Banking app with Scan to Pay" for faster and secure payment experiences, or even send money to family and friends simply using their mobile numbers.

The new features include;

- Scan to Pay: by choosing this feature on POS terminal or scanning the BML Pay QR sticker at the merchant, customers can make secure payment through the BML Mobile Banking app without actually using the actual physical credit or debit card

- Tap to Pay: customers can hold their NFC-enabled devices at the POS terminal to pay using BML Mobile Banking app securely without using the physical card

- Mobile Key-In: while making payments, customers can choose "Mobile Key-In" and enter phone numbers to receive a request for payment, which once approved the POS terminal will accept the payment

While speaking about the new upgrades, the bank's CEO and Managing Director said, "Today we have integrated our digital wallet and payment functions to the mobile app enabling customers to bank and pay through a single app."

"With today's upgrade, our Mobile Banking app is the only wallet customers need," Mr. Sawyer said, adding "Our promise is to continue to invest in technology to deliver a better baking experience for our customers across the country."
