State Electric Company (STELCO), on Wednesday, sponsored team jerseys for the athletes that won gold medals during the 2019 Indian Ocean Island Games (Indian Ocean Island Games).
STELCO held a celebratory ceremony at its head office in the capital city of Male', welcoming the gold medallists on a red carpet.
The utility company presented a certification of appreciation to four table tennis players Aishath Rafa Nazim, Fathimath Dheema Ali, Mueena Mohamed and Jumana Nimal as well as badminton player Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq.
STELCO managing director Hassan Mughny stated that he was proud of the accolades achieved at the 2019 IOIG and expressed hope for greater successes in the next games.
Furthermore, Mugny revealed STELCO's plans to provide assistance during the 2023 IOIG which will be hosted in Maldives.
In addition to several high-ranking STELCO officials, Secretary-General of the Maldives Olympic Committee Ahmed Marzooq also attended the ceremony.
