Police said that the request for prosecution was submitted last Saturday.
Police have forwarded the case of Mohamed Visam Siduqee, the driver of the sports car involved in a fatal collision with a motorcycle near Central Park in Hulhumale', to the Prosecutor General's Office (PG) for prosecution.
Visam, a 26 year old resident of Seenu atoll Hithadhoo, has been in custody pending trial. Police said that the request for prosecution was submitted last Saturday.
Visam had previously appealed the remand order issued by the Hulhumale' Court. However, High Court upheld the remand verdict.
The accident occurred during the early hours of September 6.
Hassan Samah, 23, a resident of Laamu atoll Isdhoo, sustained fatal head injuries during the collision. He passed away shortly after being taken to Hulhumale' Hospital for treatment.
Samah, a Prison Lance Corporal at Maldives Correctional Service, had come to Male' to participate in the TFG Marathon, which was held yesterday in Hulhumale'. The accident occurred after he had driven some friends to the marathon venue.
