Principal of Ghiyasuddin International School, Ali Musthafa resigns

Ali Musthafa, Principal of the Ghiyasuddin International School has retired from his position, citing his reason as making time for personal work. He has been serving at the school for four years and has been active in educational roles for over a decade.

Principal of Ghiyasuddin International School, Ali Musthafa has resigned from his post.

Musthafa began his career in Addu City (Seenu atoll; southernmost atoll in Maldives), serving as an A Level teacher at Sharafuddin School in the westernmost island of Addu City, Hithadhoo. Following that, he earned his Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Management before assuming the role of Principal at Feydhoo School in Seenu atoll in 2011.

He remained at this school for nine years until his appointment as the Principal of Ghiyasuddin International School in 2019.

Ghiyasuddin School is the first public-private school opened in Malé, the capital of the Maldives. The school was opened in 1999 with Japanese aid and offers education for children aged 6 to 16 years (Grades 1 through 10).

After serving the school for four years, Musthafa shared his desire to allocate time for his personal work, citing this as the reason for his resignation. He revealed that the decision to resign after the conclusion of the previous academic school year was preplanned and that he had already submitted his resignation last month.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Principal of Ghiyasuddin School, Ahmeema Abdul Ghafoor is currently the acting principal of the school at this time.
