Maldives Immigration have arrested nine foreigners for their involvement in prostitution.
Maldives Immigration has apprehended seven women and their two male agents on prostitution charges.
According to the agency, multiple special inspections were carried out in collaboration with Maldives Police Service this month to track down foreigners who were involved in prostitution.
As a result, seven women and two men who were agents have been arrested in total in connection to five cases, the agency revealed.
While five of the women and one agent have now been reported after investigations, the remaining three individuals are in the process of being reported, Immigration said.
Among those deported are individuals from various nationalities.
Immigration also deported several other foreigners involved in prostitution rings recently.
