Ashfan has worked in the organization for over eighteen years.
Ashfan is the brother of Ali Ashfaq, famous footballer and former National Team captain. Ashfan himself has also played for the National Football Team earlier, as well as in a number of football clubs.
The former Deputy Controller of Immigration was Ibrahim Ashraf.
At present, the Controller of Immigration is Mohamed Sham'an Waheed.
