President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Thursday stated that Parliament majority for Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) is necessary to maintain this government for a five-term.
While speaking at a campaign gathering held in Inguraidhoo, Raa Atoll, President noted said that fulfilling the government's pledges is closely related to the outcome of the Parliamentary elections slated for April 6.
"If I am to sit in President's Office with my focus on what is happening in the Parliament, I cannot work."
President Solih went on to say that to make the president pledges a reality, he needs a 'delegation' that he can trust and would help him in the process.
Addressing the citizens of Inguraidhoo, President vowed to build 300 housing units on the island and noted that the island is on the master plan to build airports in different parts of the country.
Furthermore, he assured the islanders that water and sewerage projects will commence this year.
President Solih along with former President and MDP leader Mohamed Nasheed and other leading members of the party are actively campaigning for those contesting with the MDP ticket for Parliamentary Elections.
