A landing craft travelling from Raa atoll Kudukurathu Resort has capsized, with one foreigner travelling on the vessel found dead after having been missing for hours.
MNDF stated today that the vessel 'Leo Pearl' capsized while travelling from the resort to Male' last night, with five persons onboard falling overboard.
Four of these individuals were rescued and transferred to sea ambulance early this morning, but one foreigner remained missing.
MNDF conducted extensive search and rescue operations but were unable find the missing person for hours.
The individual was discovered dead under the landing craft this morning by Coastguard divers this morning.
No further information has been provided as of yet.
MET Office has cautioned travelers to take precautions as adverse weather conditions are prevalent across the entire country these days.
