A military ship from the United Kingdom has docked in Male' today for logistic purposes.

A military ship from the United Kingdom has docked in Male' today for logistic purposes.

An official from Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that the vessel had docked in Male' after seeking the necessary permits and that it had come for logistical purposes. The official said that the vessel would be docked near Male' until next Thursday.

The vessel, 'RFA Lyme Bay', is currently on the northwest side of Male'. The 176 meter long vessel has a capacity to carry 16,160 tonnes, and is the largest vessel currently owned by the UK military.

It is being used in the Royal Navy since 2007.

A post on RFA Lyme Bay's official X account states that it has arrived in Male' for a port visit.

As per the account, it was last in Singapore for repair and maintenance.
