MWSC has stated that 10 percent discounts are set to be issued from the water bills of April.
Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has decided to issue discounts from the water bills of April.
An announcement released by the company that supplies water across the Male' region stated that although 10 percent discount is being issued, if the bill amount remains higher than that of March, further reductions will be made. While the amounts generated by both months will be matched, if the balanced amounts remain lower than 10 percent of the discount, the reductions will still be enforced up to 10 percent. Moreover, the company has also assured that discounts will be given to water bill of households that newly began the service supply as well.
MWSC stated that details of the changes made to the bills will be delivered via SMS as they come. The bills of households that have already settled the due will also be notified of the changes incurred by the bills once alterations are made.
While this discount is being offered for the month of April, discounts were applied for both water and electricity bills during Ramadan. The company had previously stated that they had expended MVR 14 million as discounts during the month, which is 25 percent of the domestic category.
STELCO had also revealed that a discount of MVR 20 million was offered on electricity services during the month of Ramadan.
