Land in Hulhumale' allocated for Media Village

Land has been allocated in Hulhumale' for the development of a Media Village. President Muizzu promised the development of a media village in response to concerns expressed by media due to the high rental prices for office spaces.

Land has been allocated in the Male' region for the development of a Media Village, in accordance with the promise made by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef announced the allocation of land in Hulhumale' for the media in an interview on the occasion of PSM's anniversary and press freedom day.

The Vice President emphasized that the current government is committed to working closely with the press. President Muizzu had also met with journalists to address their concerns during the transitional stage.

VP Hussain said that the government is aware of the situation of the media and has begun work to resolve the issues.

He further highlighted that the main concern raised by journalists was the lack of funding for private media outlets, which consequently leads to operational difficulties. Additionally, he noted the challenges of operating in rented office spaces with high rental rates.

As a solution to this problem, a land has been allocated for the Media Village set up by the current government and arrangements have been made for the media to operate there, the Vice President said.

President Muizzu made the promise to establish a media village during a conference held with media representatives following his election.

President Muizzu said that he would develop a media village in response to concerns expressed about the financial challenges faced by the media, especially due to the high rental prices for office spaces.
