Registrations open to enter Quran competition in Morocco

Maldives' National Centre for the Holy Quran has opened up registrations to participate in a Quran recitation company in Morocco.

The Islamic Ministry said Maldives has been invited to participate in the competition, which would take place in August, and that applications can be submitted to the National Centre for the Holy Quran.

The competition will be held in two categories and one participant from each category will be selected to participate.

• Be between 10 and 40 years of age

• Be a Maldivian citizen

• Not being a famous Qari in the country

• Not a previous participant of the competition The competition is open to both genders and one participant will be selected from each category after an examination, the Quran Centre said.

If a child under the age of 18, a person with visual impairments, or a person with special needs is selected for the competition, the organisers would pay for a carer to travel with them as well.

Interested candidates are requested to send their application letter and other documents to the Quran Center or its e-mail address [email protected] by 12:00 noon on 21st of this month.
