Illegal export of shark and ray meat intercepted

Maldives Customs Service has intercepted an attempt to illegally export shark and ray meat out of the country.

A customs official told Mihaaru that 582 kg of shark and ray meat were found during a search of a shipment following a tip-off that it was exporting prohibited items under the International Trade in Endangered Species Act.
