President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conferred awards to individuals who have brought pride to the Maldives through various achievements.
At last night’s Republic Day ceremony, President Muizzu presented the nation’s highest civilian honor, the Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzuddin (ODRI), to Dr Mohamed Zahir Hussain in recognition of his exemplary services and contribution to the development of education in Maldives.
The event also honored individuals who achieved top marks in international institutions and Maldivian universities.
Two individuals, Dr Aishath Shina and Khadheeja Rasheed, were awarded for completing Level 10 of the National Qualifications Framework. Both earned their PhDs abroad, with their theses published in international journals.
Awards were additionally presented to students who achieved honors in Levels 7, 8, and 9 of the National Qualifications Framework, with 40 individuals receiving this year’s special award.
A total of 53 individuals, recognized for over 35 years of service to the state also received awards, including a badge of honor, a shield of honor, and a commemorative plaque at this year’s Republic Day ceremony.
