Aasandha temporarily suspended in two Bangalore hospitals as credit service discontinue

Aasandha Managing Director said that the suspension followed the decision by these hospitals to discontinue offering credit services under Aasandha insurance.

Aasandha, the universal health insurance for Maldivians, has temporarily suspended patient referrals to two hospitals in Bangalore, India, due to changes in their internal regulations.

Aasandha have been suspended to Aster CM Eye Hospital and Cytecare Hospitals Pvt Ltd.

Aminath Zeeniya, Managing Director of Aasandha Company Ltd, told Mihaaru News that the suspension followed the decision by these hospitals to discontinue offering credit services under Aasandha insurance.

"The decision to stop referring patients to these hospitals was not made by Aasandha," Zeeniya clarified. "We acted at the request of the hospitals, for now."

Aasandha suspended services at Manipal Hospital in India due to high healthcare costs about a month ago. Zeeniya said that Manipal Hospital in Bangalore is currently reviewing its pricing.

A total of 57 foreign hospitals are empaneled to provide Aasandha services, with 49 of these located in India of which 11 are in Bangalore. The remaining eight hospitals are in Sri Lanka.
