Villa College concludes Pharmacy oath-taking and White Coat ceremony

The oath-taking ceremony for Bachelor of Pharmacy students at Villa College concluded yesterday.

During the event, held on Wednesday morning at Villa College, 22 students from the second batch of the Bachelor of Pharmacy program were presented with their white coats.

The white coats were conferred by Villa College Rector Dr Ahmed Anwar, Vice Rector Dr Ali Najeeb, Faculty of Health Science Dean Aishath Maala, and Director General of Health Services at the Ministry of Health, Dr Ahmed Ashraf.

In his remarks, Dr Ahmed Ashraf commended Villa College's efforts in training healthcare professionals, noting that the college’s contributions are helping address critical needs in the health sector.

Dean Aishath Maala emphasized the importance of pharmacists and their role in society, discussing the significant contributions of pharmacists in developed countries, including their involvement in drug manufacturing.

Vice Rector Dr Ali Najeeb encouraged the students to uphold professional and ethical standards throughout their careers.

Villa College is the first institution in the Maldives to confer white coats on pharmacy students. The college also held a similar ceremony for its first batch of pharmacy degree students.
