Ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) has said last night that work on the Israeli passport ban bill will proceed as scheduled.

This follows the rejection of a resolution submitted by the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) during yesterday’s parliamentary sitting, which called on the government to expedite the bill. The resolution, which condemned violence against Palestinians, argued that no significant action had been taken in the past year to implement the government’s stand on the matter.
