Freedive Kelaa announces freediving workshop 'Pulse' in January 2021

Local freedive training and expedition centre, Freedive Kelaa, will host a freediving workshop on January 10, 2021.

Titled 'Pulse', the workshop is open for entry level freedivers, with a focus on horning the skills taught at Level 1 and 2 freediving, such as relaxation, stretching for depth, and equalisation.

The workshop will be held at the Island Beach House in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale'.

The workshop will be conducted by professional freedive coach Harry Chamas, dive instructor Charly Stringer, and the founder of Freedive Kelaa, Umair Badheeu.

Harry Chamas and Charly Stringer are both based in Dahab, Egypt, and have been teaching and coaching divers for over seven and four years, respectively.

Chamas holds the British National Records for No Limit and Variable Weight, at depths of 120m and 105m.

Stringer is presently training to compete for the United Kingdom. According to Freedive Kelaa, she will train in Haa Alif Atoll during her stay in Maldives.

Umair Badheeu has been training with Freedive Kelaa for two years. In 2020, he participated in his first international competition at an event in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt, and made the national record Constant Bi fin at a depth of 57m.

Freedive Kelaa is based in the northern island of Kelaa in Haa Alif Atoll, which is known for its variety of hot dive spots and coral reefs rich in megafauna.

Freedive Kelaa will also host Harry Chamas in Kelaa during February, to hold coaching and training sessions on depth. The centre noted that limited spots are available for the February training in Kelaa, and invited interested participants to visit freedivepassion.com.
