Islamic Ministry has informed to temporarily halt the recitation of Qunoot-e-Nazilah that was recited in Maldivian mosques during prayer times to pray for the protection of Palestinians in Israel's war against them.

Initially, the Qunoot-e-Nazilah was mandated to be recited during all five daily prayers. The repetition was lessened in December through the issuance of new guidelines.
