Finance Ministry has announced plans to build 400 housing units in Kulhudhufushi of Haa Dhaal atoll.
In an announcement made earlier in February, the ministry said they were looking for interested parties to take on this project to “design and build”.
Interested parties have to pay a non-refundable registration fee before March 1 in order to be able to participate in the bidding of the project, scheduled to be held on March 3.
A bid security fee of MVR 2.1 million has to be paid for this project. The fee will have to be deposited within 148 days after the bid is opened.
During a visit to Kulhudhuffushi last year, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said efforts were underway to build 1,400 housing units in the island. The budget for 2022 also includes the 400 housing units Finance Ministry has announced they required a developer for. The president has said they were discussing the development of the remainder of the 1,000 housing units with a foreign party.
