Minister of Housing, Land and Urban Development Dr Ali Haidar Ahmed said no decision has been made yet to cancel the Gedhoruveriya flat recipient lists, adding a decision will be reached after further deliberations.
Minister of Housing, Land and Urban Development Dr Ali Haidar Ahmed has said that at the present moment, there is no decision to cancel the flat recipients list compiled by the former administration. He said that further deliberations will be held with concerned institutions before a final decision is reached.
Upon completion of their investigation into complaints received regarding the previous administration's allocation of these Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) built flats, the Anti Corruption Commission announced yesterday that 59.6 percent of those listed as flat recipients do not, in fact, meet the eligibility criteria required to be awarded a flat.
Asked about next steps, Minister Haidar said that arrangements are being made to discuss the ACC's findings and related decisions more with the ACC, the Attorney General, and a number of other government institutions.
He asserted that the government has not yet decided to cancel the list in its entirety.
