JEN Maldives Male' by Shangri-La becomes the first hotel property to receive Muslim Friendly Travel Rating (MFTR) by the Maldives Halal Travel (MHT).
The MFTR is a "voluntary rating" that examines and evaluates tourist properties in the island nation including hotels, resorts, safaris and liveaboards, and guesthouses on their level of Muslim friendliness.
The rating is an annual evaluation process that "ensures the services and amenities comply to Muslim etiquettes."
The MFTR is awarded after a careful inspection carried out on the property to assess if the property fits into the prerequisites.
As such, establishments are assessed on their catering to halal food, recreational facilities for both genders, conservative dress code, Muslim-friendly amenities, level of privacy, level of non-halal activities, services in the month of Ramadan, prayer facilities, and financial transactions.
Maldives Halal Travel reported that JEN Maldives Male' scored five stars - considered the highest rating - and the property is now considered as a top-class establishment with "exclusive services for Muslim travelers."
To mark this achievement, the Founder and Managing Director of MHT Dr. Hussain Sunny Umar handed a special plaque of recognition to the General Manager of JEN Maldives Male' Mr. Brice Lunot.
The MFTR acts as a "stand-alone accreditation" entity focused on producing trusted and reliable Muslim-friendly rating results for both domestic and international visitors.
