A portal by the name of ''Maldives Chef Forum'' has been inaugurated for local and International chefs working in the Maldives.
The portal was launched at the opening ceremony of Hotel Asia by the culinary challenge project's director Chef Alan Palmer. This portal is the first of it's kind to be launched in the Maldives.
Chef Palmer said that the participation of Maldivian chefs in this year's culinary challenge and the fact that nine out of the 10 rookie judges on the judging panel being Maldivians are signs of the progress of the culinary sector in the Maldives. He said that such a portal would be an important step towards the development of chefs.
Developer of ''Maldives Chef Forum'', Best Buy Maldives, said that the portal will allow chefs to blog, review various products and increase competition among chefs; developing the culinary field. The portal is crucial to connect chefs who work at different resorts in the geographically dispersed nation.
The chefs portal was initiated by Chairman of Best buy Maldives Ismail Hilmy. The company; committed towards developing and promoting the culinary industry in the Maldives, also sponsors chefs' training.
The company said the portal will be officially launched soon.
