Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), on Monday, reopened applications for flats being developed in Phase Two of reclaimed suburb Hulhumale'.

MPL stated that the applications were reopened after reviewing and revising the application criteria. The deadline is set for November 24.

The previous list of flat recipients was nullified in October. MPL stated that individuals that applied previously are free to resubmit their applications.

The temporary list of recipients was released on October 28, 2018, during the transitionary period between the electoral defeat of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and the inauguration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. Some state companies commenced development of housing units in Hulhumale' Phase Two during the previous government.

While MPL is constructing three 14-storey towers with a total of 534 apartments, employees will be allocated 432 of the apartments. The remaining will be released to the public.
