The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has called on the public today to take necessary precautions against the spread of respiratory diseases.
The Agency's Media Official Aiminath Saaidha revealed that the number of cases of respiratory diseases reported this week exceeds from the number recorded in the past week.
According to the official, cases of dengue, viral fever and diarrhea are not significantly high. However, the number of cases of flu and cold symptoms have risen.
As this flu may cause complications to those suffering from respiratory diseases, HPA has appealed to the public to take precautionary measures.
Pulmonologists in the country have been raising concerns about the spread of flu symptoms across the islands since mid 2022.
