President Muizzu has met with Speaker of Parliament, Abdul Raheem alongside Vice Speaker and PNC PG leader. Deliberation were held on national progress as well as efforts to achieve economic and environmental growth during the meeting.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has met with the Speaker of Parliament, Abdul Raheem Abdulla at the President's Office this morning.
This meeting was also attended by the Vice Speaker of Parliament and MP for Dhiggaru constituency, Ahmed Nazim as well as Ibrahim Falah, Leader of ruling party, People's National Congress (PNC) Parliamentary Group (PG) and MP for Inguraidhoo constituency.
President's Office stated that this meeting saw several deliberations held on efforts to expedite the nation's developmental progress.
Speaker Abdul Raheem had further ensured the full cooperation of the parliament in all procedures and visions of the government proposed for people's progress.
Moreover, the two had also deliberated efforts to address environmental changes and enhance its protection while also discussing efforts to achieve economic progress.
Speaker Abdul Raheem, who had served as the Special Advisor to the President prior to his appointment into the parliament is the President's closest confidant in the political scene. Given his success in securing the seat of Fonadhoo Constituency during the election, Abdul Raheem was nominated to preside over the parliament by President Muizzu himself.
Speaking at the parliament for the first time since being elected Speaker on May 28, Abdul Raheem stated that the President had come into power to bring forth revolutionary changes for the nation. He assured that the Parliament will also work in alignment with this vision to implement these policies in the most beneficial way for the people.
