President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced today that a number of important bills will be submitted to the legislative within this parliamentary term.
Delivering his first Presidential Address, the President outlined what some of these bills will concern. The bills that are to be newly submitted or amended will be concerning:
- eradication of arbitrary detention and establishment of a strong bail bond system for the purpose
- a bill on preventive health care
- mental health
- housing policies
- travel agencies
- expansion of real estate business
- urban planning
- urban development.
- land conveyancing
- copyright
- freedom of assembly
The President will also be submitting to parliament to bring into effect a change in the compilation of the Judicial Services Commission. This is being done under his efforts to ensure their is no Executive interference in the Judiciary.
