Minister of Housing and Urban Development Ahmed Athifa was involved in an accident on Thursday when a motorcycle collided with her official car.
The minister was inside the car when the accident took place on the capital city's ring road of Boduthakurufaanu Magu. However, no one sustained any injuries.
The front of the car was dented although the motorcycle was not damaged.
According to Maldives Police Service, the accident occurred when the motorcycle drove onto the car lane, ahead of the minister's car.
Police disclosed that a 24-year-old woman was driving the motorcycle.
Although the motorcycle driver had a license, Police stated that the license was expired. Driving without a license or with an expired license are both illegal.
Police are currently investigating the case.
