Maldives' Under 17 football team has exited the SAFF Championship through losing 0-3 to India.
Maldives only won a single point, playing against Bangladesh.
Some of the players on the first 11 were unable to participate in yesterday's match due to various injuries.
Coach Mohamed Adam said that the weather conditions had been the biggest challenge for Maldivian players. The location of the championship, Bhutan, had a temperature of -21 degrees during the match yesterday.
"Two of my important players got sick due to the weather. I had planned to include them both in the first 11. However, at the last minute they started vomiting and so, after discussing with them, I decided to bring some changes," he said.
Adam said that the weather conditions, starkly different from the climate in Maldives, had been bad luck for the Maldives. He asserted that if the weather conditions had been favourable, the team would have displayed better play.
