Hithadhoo Regional Hospital, on Wednesday, revealed that preparations were underway to send a man found injured in Maradhoo, Addu Atoll, to the capital city of Male' for medical treatment.
Hospital Manager Sharafuhsaadath stated that Aasandha insurance coverage was already arranged and that the man would be sent to the capital as soon as a flight could be booked.
The 39-year-old man was discovered in an unconscious state on Tuesday at 1530 hrs. The individual was suspected to have sustained injuries in an altercation which resulted from an attempt to steal breadfruit from a tree located in a private residence. The man is from Nilandhoo, Gaafu Alif Atoll.
"Doctors recommended that he be sent to Male' to do scans in relation to a head injury", stated Sharafuhsaadath.
The hospital manager disclosed that the man's overall condition was stable and that he had not sustained any serious injuries.
The police have yet to release any information concerning the ongoing investigation into the matter. No arrests were made in relation to the case.
