Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has taken part in the TTF Travel and Tourism Fair in Kolkata, held from July 1 to 3. The leading tourism promoter of the Maldives participated in the fair along with 13 other industry partners.
MMPRC along with the industry partners are currently gearing up for the Maldives Roadshow expected to commence from July 5 and is expected to traverse across Bangalore, Chennai and eventually concluding at Trivandrum on July 8.
In the TTF Kolkata, Maldives exhibited as the "Partner Country" while MMPRC's tourism promotion wing "Visit Maldives" was marketed at the event.
In addition to this, Riu Maldives and Sun Siyam Iruveli gave special destination presentations to the visitor audiences during the fair.
The TTF Kolkata is regarded as one of India's leading exhibitions for the travel and tourism industry, which attracts heavy numbers of affluent travelers and industry professionals.
Participation in these events is part of MMPRC's marketing strategy to further bolster the brand presence of Maldives as a leading tourism destination in the Indian market.
India remains as the largest source market to the Maldives in 2021 with over 278,749 annual arrivals and a market share of 22.6 percent by the end of the previous year. The country remains as the top source market well into 2022, with a reported total of 119,967 tourists from India arriving in the Maldives as of June 29.
