Maldives Customs Officers attend training at India's NACIN

Thirty officers from the Maldives Customs Service (MCS) have attended a training program at India's National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes, and Narcotics (NACIN), in Faridabad.

Thirty officers from the Maldives Customs Service (MCS) have attended a training program at India's National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes, and Narcotics (NACIN), in Faridabad.

The training was held from March 4 to 8. This training falls under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme of the Ministry Of External Affairs, Government of India.

The special training, under the title of "Intelligence, Information and Investigation (3-Is)" included interactive sessions, case studies, reporting on various aspects of investigation, and other areas.

The Memorandum of Understanding on Customs Capacity Building between Maldives and India was signed in June, 2019 during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the Maldives.

High Commission of India shared on social media some testimonials from attendees of the training.

This training was conducted through collaboration between India's Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs and Maldives Customs Service. Under this initiative, to date, 240 Maldives Customs Officers have attended trainings in India, with around a 100 more having obtained online training.
