Shifan and Shareef promoted to ACP rank

Shifan and Shareef, both former Superintendents of Police, were promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).

Spokesperson of Maldives Police Service (MPS) Chief Superintendent of Police Mohamed Shifaan and Head Chief of Central Policing Command Superintendent of Police Abdulla Shareef were promoted as Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP) today.

Both officers were conferred with their promotion letters by Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusan in a special ceremony held in Iskandharu Koshi, Malé.

ACP is the highest rank of promotion an officer can receive at an administrative level. Deputy Police Commissioners and Police Commissioners are directly appointed by the President.

Apart from serving as Head Chief of Central Policing Command, Shareef also served as the head of Front Line policing, as well as the commander of several other police departments.

On the other hand, Shifan served as the first Executive Director of the National College of Policing and Law as well as the head of Drug Enforcement Department.

Shifan is currently completing a one year executive leadership programme at UK's College of Policing.
