Adhaalath Party (AP) has failed to secure even one seat in the 20th People's Majlis following the parliamentary elections held in Maldives on Sunday.

Candidates from AP contested for four seats in the parliamentary elections which ended with a clear supermajority for the ruling People's National Congress (PNC).

Former Home Minister Sheikh Imran Abdulla contested for the Makunudhoo constituency, with Hussain Sageef running for the seat in Vaikaradhoo, Ismail Ali contesting for the Inguraidhoo constituency and Ismail Hameedh having sought election in Funadhoo. All four candidates fielded by AP for the parliamentary election were defeated on Sunday.

Adhaalath Party had attempted to have their candidates elected into the 19th People's Majlis, but were met with failure in that cycle as well.

Prior to this, the current MP-elect for Huraa constituency Dr Anaara Naeem had served as an MP with Adhaalath Party for the 18th People's Majlis representing the Makunudhoo constituency. That was the only time in AP's history where they were able to successfully push any of their candidates into parliament.

MP-elect for Huraa constituency Dr Anaara contested for the 20th People's Majlis as an independent candidate. She secured a win in Sunday's parliament elections, gaining a seat in Majlis alongside her husband Adam Shafeeq, who is the new MP-elect for Makunudhoo constituency.
