Sharing photos of Jaishankar's visit to the Foreign Ministry tonight, Minister Zameer stated that discussions during the visit will cover existing areas of bilateral cooperation and reinforcing shared commitment to deepening the partnership between the two countries.

“We are committed to strengthening the existing cooperation and friendship between our two countries,” Zameer said.

This marks Jaishankar’s fourth official visit to the Maldives, and the first for a senior official of the Indian government to visit the island nation in an official capacity since President Dr Mohamed Muizzu assumed office.

During this visit, Jaishankar is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with President Muizzu. President Muizzu also recently met with Jaishankar during his recent trip to India.

Jaishankar will also observe the development projects being implemented by the Government of India in Male' and Addu Cities.

During former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration, Jaishankar visited the Maldives three times, including visits to Addu.
