Oevaali Art Shop on Tuesday launched an informative colouring book targeting little ones who may raise some challenging questions regarding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Titled 'How to Outwit a Virus, A Gentle and Practical Guide for Children', the colouring book aims to help families, schools, and adults working with children faced with having to explain "how to take simple and specific precautions for the things they cannot see".
Oevaali Art Shop expressed hope for the book to be used as a tool to "help children understand how strong their bodies are, the concept of personal and community hygiene, and the world around them in a fun, loving and inclusive way".
"As the COVID-19 global pandemic reached our shores, and our islands face extraordinary economic and social disruption, the unprecedented world-wide impact a virus has had within a span of days and weeks is challenging to come to terms with", said Co-Founder of Oevaali Art Shop, Raniya Mansoor.
“With this informative coloring book, we're finding fun ways to remind little ones the precautions to take while staying at home amidst this global pandemic", added Co-Founder Raya Mansoor.
The book, illustrated by Aiminath Ula Ahmed, was completed with advice and consultation from ADK Hospital's Dr Adeel Shareef.
'How to Outwit a Virus, A Gentle and Practical Guide for Children', priced at MVR 175 (USD 11.35), will be available at Oevaali Art Shop's online store, as well as their retail store in capital Male'. The shop offers free local delivery across Maldives for orders placed online.
