Universal Enterprises is sponsoring three Maldivian doctors to specialise in Malaysia.
Universal Enterprises, one of the Maldives' leading tourism companies, announced today that it will sponsor three doctors for advanced training in various medical specialties and awarded the scholarships to the recipients.
The scholarships were presented to the three doctors in a special ceremony held at the Universal office today. The recipients of the fully funded scholarships are:
- Dr. Fathimath Mishfa Naseem: Masters of Otolaryngology (Ears, Nose, Throat - ENT)
- Dr. Nuha Abdul Rahman: Masters of Paediatrics (Children's)
- Dr. Aminath Najudha: Masters of Surgery
All three doctors will specialise in Malaysia.
The efforts to improve the lives of Maldivians, which Universal Enterprises undertook for the past 41 years, are now being continued by the Universal Foundation.
Since 2014, the Universal Foundation has given out 121 scholarships to Maldivian students, out of which 15 students are still studying abroad, the foundation said.
The Universal Foundation provides direct and indirect assistance to developmental, social and various aid programmes carried out in the country by the government and other organisations.
