Ibrahim Mohamed Solih (Ibu) ensured zero possibility of election fraud by ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and its candidate President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom in the upcoming elections.

While speaking at a campaign stop during the opposition coalition's Haa Dhaalu Atoll campaign trail at the island of Nellaidhoo, Ibu claimed that President Yameen will win the majority only from a limited number of islands throughout the Maldives.

"President Yameen will only be able to win the upcoming elections by committing fraud. However, we are not in a position to give him this opportunity. Undoubtedly, the votes of the people of this island will not be rigged," said Ibu while addressing a number of supporters.

He further highlighted that Elections Commision had disclosed that nearly a 100,000 individuals had re-registered for the election, and questioned the credibility of the statistic. He extended his concern of the impossible procedure that will go into re-registering a large number of people as such, and advised all voters to be sure of where they are registered.

Shedding light to the objectives to be fulfilled should the opposition coalition come to power, Ibu pledged to provide adequate salaries for workers including allowances, and assured job security for them as well.

He complacently pointed out that the only development offered by the current government to Nellaidhoo was construction of a wall around the island's futsal stadium. Ibu further pledged the development of the island's sewerage system as well as to make arrangements to organize a single-session school system, should the opposition coalition come to power.

He also noted the current state of the island's harbour, and vowed to further develop it.

Ibu is scheduled to visit Naavaidhoo and Makunudhoo on his Haa Dhaalu campaign trail.
