MNDF relocates Northern Command to Hanimaadhoo

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) announced on Thursday they have decided to shift the military’s Northern Area Command Headquarters to Haa Dhaalu atoll Hanimaadhoo.

MNDF said a military parade will be held in five islands in the northern atolls to celebrate this move.

Currently, the Northern Area Command is operated from Lhaviyani atoll Maafilaafushi.

MNDF announced that parades are scheduled to take place from Friday to Tuesday across five islands, including Dhidhdhoo and Ihavandhoo in Haa Alifu Atoll, as well as Kulhudhufushi, Nolhivaranfaru, and Hanimaadhoo in Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

The parades will begin every day at 4:30 PM on these days.

Following the parades, citizens will have the chance to take photos with the soldiers.
