Maldives has been nominated in 10 categories for the 28th annual World Travel Awards.
World Travel Award celebrates all the sectors of travel, tourism and the hospitality industry.
Maldives is included in the nominations from the Indian Ocean region.

With the exception for award for the cruise, the voting for all other awards have been opened and will go on till September 1.
The votes for World Cruise Award has to be cast before August 1.
Additionally, Maldivian brands were nominated in other sectors as well. Maldivian Airline was nominated in five different categories while Velana International Airport (VIA) was nominated for Indian Ocean's Leading Airport. Male' Commercial Harbor was nominated for Indian Ocean's Leading Cruise Port.
Nine Maldivian brands were nominated in the Travel Agencies and Tour Operator sector as well.
Maldives have been nominated for the World Travel Awards multiple times in the past before. Over the past 17 years, Maldives have won Indian Ocean's Leading Destination award 13 times.
