State-owned Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) declared that the construction of 'Bahaahudeen road' in Hulhumeedhoo, Addu City, will conclude within eight months.
The government and MTCC signed the agreement to develop the road on March 27. The contract was signed by Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Planning and Infrastructure, Zeeniya Ahmed Hameed, on behalf of the government and CEO of MTCC Hassan Shah.
The construction of the road was officially inaugurated by Vice President Faisal Naseem on April 4.
Under the agreement, the project consists of tarring 1,810 square metres of Bahaahudheen Magu, installation of a storm water management system, and the construction of speed breakers and sidewalks.
According to MTCC's press statement, the project will cost over MVR 32 million.
