Police has begun investigation into allegations that an HDC customer database has been hacked following the emerging of several screenshots containing customer information on social media.
Police has stated that investigations have begun into a case involving the hacking of a customer focused database of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).
Several screenshots claimed to be information of the customers has been leaked on social media today, with allegations ensuing that HDC's customer database has been compromised.
HDC has not provided a statement on the case as of yet. However, multiple civilians had received text messages of One-Time Passwords (OTPs) from HDC's handle today.
Mihaaru News reports that the Police Spokesperson, Ahmed Shifan revealed that the problem has been brought to the attention of the police and further assured that all required investigations into the matter is ongoing.
Police have not provided any additional information.
HDC, initially established in 2001, is tasked with managing all social housing flats, independently build luxury flats and any projects that spans across the Hulhumale' region alongside all residential information in the area.
