Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Head of Mission of Maldives to the European Union, Geela Ali, presented her Letter of Credence to Charles Michel, the President of the European Council yesterday afternoon, the Foreign Ministry said.
After the presenting of credentials, the Ambassador spoke about the close relations between the Maldives and EU, and emphasized on the conclusion of the recently entered Samoa Agreement.
Michel also highlighted the growing ties between Maldives and the European Union.
High Commissioner of Maldives to Malaysia, Dr Mariyam Shabeena Ahmed, also presented credentials yesterday to Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia.
At the meeting that followed, the King assured cooperation from Malaysia in the fulfillment of her role, the Foreign Ministry said.
The High Commissioner thanked the King for the support of the Malaysian government and people in fostering the close relations between the two countries.
