The land use plan for Hulhumale' 3 has been finalized, while the land use plan for Gulhi Falhu has also been completed, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development said last night.

Housing Ministry's State Minister Dilshaan Abdulla, who participated in the Male' Binveringe Sallaa', a gathering of individuals allocated land plots under former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's 'Binveriyaa' housing scheme, said that no land use plan had been established when the initial plots were allocated from Hulhumale', Gulhi Falhu, and Giraavaru Falhu.

He said that approximately 10 percent of the land use plan for Gulhi Falhu had issues, and measures are currently being taken to resolve it.

"Efforts have been made to announce the two LUPs to the public this week," Dilshaan said.

Dilshaan said that the land use plan was being developed by including the additional land being reclaimed for the relocation of the Gulhi Falhu Port to Thilafushi, as well as the additional land being reclaimed from Giraavaru Falhu.

Last night, the Male' New Landowners Group said that they have received assurances from the government that their views and opinions will be considered in the development of the Giraavaru land use plan.

The gathering was organized by the Male' New Landowners Group, comprising four organizations: Hulhumale' Rayyithunge Committee (Hulhumale' Citizens Committee), Male' Rahvehinge Association (Male' Residents' Association), Gulhi Falhu Rayyithunge Association (Gulhi Falhu Citizen's Association), and Male' Citizens Association.

Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih introduced the Binveriya housing scheme, under which 9000 plots of land located in Hulhumale' Phase 2, Hulhumale' Phase 3, Giraavaru Falhu and Gulhi Falhu is to be granted to eligible individuals.

Many of these recipients were given registries and even issued land at the time.
