Maldives' National U20 Handball Team has secured third place and triumphed the bronze medal at the IHF Trophy Asia after clinching victory over Nepal with a score of 23-22.

The best player of this match was conferred to the Goalkeeper of the Maldivian team, Hussain Yanaal Akram, who was similarly awarded this title during the team's first match against Nepal in the league round.
The tournament which took place at the Sawai Man Singh Indoor Stadium in Jaipur, India also saw the Maldives' National U18 Handball Team compete with Nepal for the title of bronze winner. However, the U18 team was met with defeat in this match with a score of 31-29.
Both the Maldivian teams had triumphed their first matches against Nepal during the Asia Zone 2 matches of the IHF Trophy which comprises of four teams including hosts, India and Bangladesh. The U18 team had clinched victory against Nepal, 36-31 while the U20 team had triumphed with a score of 30-28.
However, they had failed to succeed in the following two matches, ending the league round in third place as well. The U18 team had faced defeat at the hands of India, 56-27 while the U20 team had also lost to India with a score of 51-28.
The later match of both Maldivian teams with Bangladesh also saw both teams defeated, with the U18 team accumulating a score of 47-28 while the U20 team observed a score of 38-30.
