Vice President Faisal Naseem on Saturday arrived in Molhadhoo Island, Haa Alif Atoll as the first stop of a two-day visit to Haa Alifu and Haa Dhaalu Atoll.
Residents of the island gathered to welcome the Vice President upon his arrival.
During the stop at Molhadhoo, Vp Naseem officially opened the futsal ground and attended the ceremony held to commence the construction of the children's park in the island.
Further, he initiated the harbour construction project of the island as well.
Speaking to the people of Molhadhoo, the Vice President noted that since fulfilling the needs of people should be of utmost priority of any government, and assured that this administration is committed to providing basic infrastructure and services to islands, regardless of the residential population.
He also highlighted the administration's commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the country and urged all citizens to promote these values in order to maintain national harmony.
Vice President Naseem visited Mohladhoo School and met with the school management and staff before concluding his visit.
According to the President's Office, the next stop of the tour is the Atoll capital, Dhidhdhoo Island. He is set to meet with the Island and Atoll Council and will attend the 'Thilauthuru Uththama Aruthaverin' award ceremony later in the evening.
