The state, on Wednesday, confirmed the appointment of Aiminath Abdulla as the Employment Tribunal's new President.
She was formerly serving as the tribunal's vice president, since initially being designated to the spot in 2019.
Aiminath, who holds a Masters of Law from the England University, also previously worked as a legal consultant for the National Pay Commission.
The recent hire fills a vacancy that was created after former President Amjad Musthafa resigned from the post last year.
Mustafa resigned claiming that the state of the tribunal did not allow him to conduct his duties in a professional manner.
Prior to his appointment at the tribunal, Amjad served as the vice-chairman and commissioner of the Elections Commission.
