Thirty three individuals have made fifty bids to eleven plots of land in Thilafushi's Industrial Zone.
As stated on September 16 by an official of Greater Male Industrial Zone Ltd (GMIZL), the July 25 announcement that was made for issuing of land in Thilafushi received numerous bids. These bids are now being evaluated and the designated owners for these plots will be revealed soon.
The first announcement made for the opening of the bid was made on July 12. However, a second announcement was made on July 25 following the cancellation of the first one.
The bidding for the plots of land in Thilafushi took place at Champa Central Hotel on August 16.
Announcements had also been made to lease land plots, to issue them for storage and industrial purposes in May 2018. This announcement was cancelled as well.
