The government has put up 11 land plots for bid from Kaafu Atoll Thilafushi's Industrial Zone (TIZ) for warehousing and industrial purposes.
In a notice released last week, Greater Male Industrial Zone Ltd (GMIZL) revealed that individual bidders can apply only for maximum three plots each.
GMIZL would also charge a nonrefundable registry fee of MVR 200 for each land plot. Furthermore, bidders must settle MVR 5,000 as bid security for each plot. The deadline to make the security payment is 12:00 p.m. on June 11.
The company stated that it would later announce dates to open the bidding.
The sizes of the land plots up for lease are between 1,995 to 20,067 square feet.
This is the first time in several years for the government to put up land plots in Thilafushi for lease.
